Raven Albany Concert reviews
Fear of Heights
After this experience, I will probably never go to a concert ever again. I live in the East Bay. I got to the Chase Center early, as recommended. I took Bart to 16th Street. Right where you exit, an Express Shuttle is waiting. Entrance was free when I showed the driver my E-ticket on my phone. The outside of Chase Center is really impressive with flashing screens, shops, food court, and a beautiful view of the bay in the back. The nightmare begins when I go inside. My seat was in the rafters, the least expensive ticket at $100. It feels as if your nose will start bleeding because it's so high up in the stadium. Forget these seats if you’re fearful of heights! They cram you in like sardines, and if you’re not careful or a little tipsy from the $16 beers, you can easily topple over. Raven was the only act, as per the emails I received from Ticketmaster, and would start on time. A DJ came on for 30 minutes to pump up the crowd, but the volume and beat of the music started competing with the beat of my own heart after the first 10 minutes. Raven finally came on at 9:00pm. I tried to stay, but started to feel claustrophobic. I went down to the lower floor standing where there was space, feeling at ease. A security guard told me I needed to move when I said I was feeling anxious. She allowed me to stand for a few more songs, and would probably have let me stand the entire concert. However, I decided to leave 30 minutes into the show. I didn't pay $100 to stand for 2 hours.
